When HiM plays live, everybody dances. It's that simple. Even cross-armed, plaid-laden June of 44 fans can't help but let loose, due to HiM's intense rhythmic nature - from the overlapping of African polyrhythms to 4-on-the-floor grooves. This music cries to be remixed more than most, hence the start of this 3-volume series, with each volume featuring remixers from a different part of the globe (North America and Europe are forthcoming). This volume features Japanese artists Nobukazu Takemura, Susumu Yokota, and Ultra Living. Takemura assembled an intricate 3-part epic out of "Verdict of Science" (from the Sworn Eyes album); Yokota delivers an undeniable house track made from "Out Here" (New Features); Ultra Living experiments with the tones and atmospheres of "Sea Level" (New Features). The gorgeous, full-cover artwork is based on a traditional Japanese tattoo design, only to be made complete by all 3 records together.
